Lakers welcome Antawn Jamison!

And not Dwight Howard! Woo Hoo!

Yes there are still rumors going around that the DH trade is still possible but I hope to god it isn’t. Like I keep saying, I rather have a younger Bynum who is only getting better with time than Howard who just seems to whine more as the days go by.

Aw yeah! We won’t have the worst bench in the league anymore! Awesome. I’ve been counting down the days…

Jamison is the man when it comes to point scoring AND rebounds. He can be the Sixth Man on the Lakers ANY day. Yes please.

Cool fact about Jamison: He is the only player next to Dirk Nowitzki in NBA history to accumulate over the length of his career at least 1,000 three-pointers, 7,000 rebounds and a whopping 19,000 points.

That’s pretty amazing if you ask me.

Welcome to the Dream Team! Oh Yeah!

Rodman’s Rainbow Obama Burger

I’m sure most of you have either seen or heard about this but for those of you who have yet to…here it is.

After 42 long years of separation and mystery Dennis Rodman, yes THE Dennis Rodman, has finally had the opportunity to meet his old man. After an exhibition game in the Philippines Dennis Rodman agreed to come face to face with Philander Rodman Jr, better known as his Vietnam War Veteran father. Apparently his old man tried to introduce himself earlier in 2006 but was unable.

Who is Philander Rodman Jr.?

Well he’s admitted to fathering 29 children by 16 women and he is the proud owner of Rodman’s Rainbow Obama Burger in Angeles City which is located in the Philippines. He’s lived in the Philippines for about 50 years now and it looks like he’s pretty much settled in as far as that is concerned. What kind of food does he serve? Apparently he serves burgers with different colored buns to reflect his flamboyant son and HIS love of colors.

Now my REAL question is…

Where do I get me one of them shirts?!

USA beats DOM & Blake Griffin out for good

Best news of the day if you ask me!

Our USA basketball team ended up blowing the Dominican Republic OUT OF THE WATER! With a 113-59 victory at the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas campus our All Stars just gave it all they had to show that there isn’t any competitor who can stand against this awesome team!

And in case you missed the big show yesterday here’s a little highlight for you guys:

And with some good fortune, Blake Griffin is out as of yesterday due to a torn meniscus which is most definitely some good news for the USA team because we all know Blake Griffin can’t play basketball for shit. He will most likely be replaced by Anthony Davis as well as some other alternates to sit on the bench. We’ll find out for sure by next week when Blake Griffin officially withdraws himself from the competition.

This season has been nothing but injury after injury and just because it’s Olympics time doesn’t make it any different. Also out from participating in the Olympics is Dwight the big baby Howard, Chris Bosh and LaMarcus Aldridge.

But having Anthony Davis as a backup was a smart move and he will go to the next practice with the USA team so he can play the next four exhibition games before the first official Olympic game against France which is scheduled on July 29th.

Who delivered their A game last night? Kevin Durant. Made a game high 24 points in a record setting 22 minutes with 9 out of 11 shots made from the floor which includes making 5 out of 6 three pointers as well. No doubt that this young All Star will definitely be competition for the Heat once again come next NBA season.

Who else shocked and awed last night? None other than Philadelphia’s own Andre Iguodala! Made an impressive 18 points with 7 out of 9 field goals made with 4 of those being three pointers as well. To think he was almost left off the Olympics roster! But Iguodala will be key in the success of the USA Men’s basketball team, for sure. Why? Because Iguodala is great at contesting shots, stealing the ball as well as starting fast breaks. And we saw yesterday that he is also a great scorer which will be very helpful for the USA team. We need him to slow down defenses when USA players are being double teamed as well as to keep the ball from the other team. And for those of you who are still skeptical and would’ve rather had Eric Gordon or Rudy Gay be on the roster, we’ll just have to wait and see how Iguodala meshes in with the rest of the team but I have no doubt either way that America will show the world who’s boss when it comes to Men’s basketball!

Our USA Men’s Basketball team is on FIRE! BOOM SHAKA LAKA!

Let’s go USA!

New Additions to the Heat

The first addition to the Miami Heat this off season is none other than Ray Allen which both me and Lebron are happy about. Sucks that the Celtics didn’t trade them during the regular season so they could get something in return but that’s how it happens sometimes, you know?

One thing I do know is that Miami made a great move acquiring Allen. Not only is he one of the best 3 point shooters of his time, if not THE best of ALL time, his overall 92% accuracy from the free throw line is nothing to laugh at. Sure he’s getting old and has some injuries slowing him down but who doesn’t nowadays? It’d be nice for both Ray Allen and the Heat to go at it for another Championship ring come next season. The Heat will REALLY be a team to be reckoned with.

And besides, Ray Allen shouldn’t want to stay on a team where he’s being replaced by the 21 year old Bradley who has been starting when Ray Allen has been unable to. Of course it is unlikely that the Heat will use Allen as a starter but by having a greater opportunity at actually playing and having the ball, which Rondo and Allen have gotten into tiffs about, it will give Allen more room to play out his days instead of just being on the sidelines.

People have different views on the positives and negatives of Ray Allen leaving the Heat but what is done is done and we’ll just have to wait till next season to see if it was the right move to make for both the Heat AND for Boston.

Which brings us to our next addition, veteran forward Rashard Lewis. Having been Ray Allen’s teammate for 5 years in Seattle, these two are JUST what the Heat needed to amp up their already All-Star team consisting of Lebron, Wade and Bosh. These two will not only add more shooting options for the Heat team but bring a new defensive aspect to their game as well.

Yes he’s played his second worst career year last year due to injuries but I have high hopes that he will bring his A game this coming season on the Heat.

Can’t wait to see these two in action!

The King of trade bullshit rises again

Who else could I be talking about but the Master of Flip Flop, Mr. Dwight Howard himself.

Everyone is talking about how the Lakers would regret it if we didn’t trade Andrew Bynum for Dwight Howard but is this really the deal that LA has to make? Sure DH may be a tad bit better offensively Bynum is still young and only getting better year after year. The Lakers need to keep their young star players instead of risking them for older washed out players like DH.

Yes Bynum has had his own injuries and problems in the past but nothing like Howard’s recent list of injuries which could affect his rate of play from here on out. Season ending injuries for older players can be career ending as well.

And besides, wasn’t DH supposed to go play bball with his BFF Deron in Jersey? Did I miss something? Although I’m surprised Deron is thinking of staying after all the fuss he made this past season. Sorry, Brooklyn not Jersey.

I’ve been watching a lot of Bridezillas on TV and Dwight is beginning to sound a lot like those crazy bitches who need to have everything THEIR way.

There’s only one team on my list and if I don’t get traded there, I’ll play the season out and explore my free agency after that,” Howard told Yahoo! Sports.

And get this, he’s going to try to take “Legal Action” if the Magic doesn’t move him somewhere else since they “FAILED” to do what they had promised him. Who else isn’t annoyed by this big baby?

So let me get this straight. It’s a Catch-22 so try to stay with me here.

1. Dwight Howard wants to be moved and will only play for the Nets.
2. The Nets are trying to re-sign Deron Williams as well as Joe Johnson which leaves no money and no talent to offer the Magic for Howard.

I wouldn’t even trade a bag of peanuts for Dwight Howard.

And apparently the Rockets are in all the trade rumors now a days because they’re just trying to get their hands on anyone possible. But they’ve moved on from trying to get the big man since their Draft flop the other day AND they already signed Omer Asik to a 3 year contract worth $25 mil.

Why do the Lakers have to be the ones to get stuck with this dude? We don’t want his ass. I say we take another route to improve the team.

I really don’t want DH anywhere near LA unless he’s here for a pounding from my home team.

If I have to sing a song and put it on Youtube to KEEP Howard from coming to LA, I WILL DO IT! I SWEAR!

New article titles to describe DH, Dwight Howard has out-LeBroned LeBron with free-agency gaffes.” It’ll always be slang for the times but people who REALLY know what happened and KNOW how much work and effort Lebron gave to Cleveland will know that people are misguided when they use the term.

And for Pau, poor guy has just been the basis of almost every Lakers trade rumor for the past year now. If he ends up being traded I will of course be sad but maybe it’ll give him and the Lakers another opportunity at seeing a possible Championship. Up in the air is 3 possible trades for Pau (that we know about) but I’m pretty sure the one with the Hawks was already rejected. I’d LOVE to have Josh Smith on the Lakers but the Lakers still want more. And I can see both points of the situation. We’d get a great forward that’s not only an amazing defensive player but also one of the most efficient players in the NBA but we’d lose a big man which is pretty important. The Hawks, and any team that took Pau, would be left with a heavy burden of a $38 million/2 year contract which would put a pretty big dent in their hopes of scouting out other players.

Mark’s hoping for Pau to be traded to the Twolves so he can have an all white starting lineup. Hahaha. Hey, it IS Minnesota. I’d pay to see that.

We had a debate to see if he could make a Championship winning team with just white players. Maybe we should start the whole Fantasy League thing. I still haven’t decided who would be on my “non-white” team though. Apparently I only want 3 Lebrons instead of 5 according to Mark. For now, I think I’ll just stick with 1 and build on it.

Maybe when I have some more time to think about it I can do an analysis of my “DREAM TEAM”.

Bleh. That was my two cents on this whole situation. I really thought I had heard the end of this bullshit back during the regular season but I have to hear about it during the off season too? Now THAT’s bull honkey.

NBA Draft Pick Tonight! (Or this afternoon if you live where I live)

So anyone can write their analysis of who’s going to get picked when so I thought I’d make this Draft entry unique to me. Some of you asked for something similar with those who had gotten their Championship rings but I thought, hey why not do it with Draft picks?

What in the hell am I talking about?

I’m talking about the Bug Eyed players who are going to get swept up tonight! Maybe those big round eyes give them an advantage that we’re not all seeing.

And for those of you who haven’t yet seen my original post, here it is:

https://serialprincess.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/the-googly-eyed-big-bosses-of-the-nba/

And who better to start with than Mr. #1 draft pick himself, Anthony Unibrow Davis.

Not the BEST picture to show off his big eyes but for those of you who have been following him his whole UK career know what I’m talking about. Awww…He has that whole Chris Bosh ROAR going on!

Everyone has this kid as Draft Pick #1 and there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the New Orleans Hornets are going to snatch him up the second the drafts begin.

Davis is a defensive BEAST!

Much needed on the NOH this bug eyed monster is one to keep an eye out for in the future.

Next.

Almost skipped over Andre Drummond.

This one is a little give and take. I think he has more of that Tim Duncan sad puppy eyes thing going on but hey, Tim has 4 rings and Andre is up at #7 this year for a potential draft so there might be something to it. Maybe I’ve been looking at this thing all wrong. Maybe I should be studying sad puppy dog eyes instead of bug eyed players…

We’ll figure it out one blog analysis at a time.

Drummond is one of those players that creeps up on people. He just keeps getting better and better to the point where you can’t ignore him anymore.

He might be JUST the team player that the Warriors needed after this rough season. It doesn’t hurt to have a big man on the team either.

Next.

Mr. Austin Rivers

Sometimes his eyes look normal and then sometimes you get a shot like this:

where it makes you question if he’s one of the bug eyeds that we all need to watch out for. I guess this is one of those ones where we’ll have to wait and see if his eyes get bigger and wiser with age and experience.

Most may remember him from the Duke vs Carolina game. Buzzer beater 3 pointer for the win? Not bad for a freshman…not bad at all. Doc Rivers must be proud of his up and coming star of a son. Hell, I would be too.

He must’ve only gotten half of Doc Rivers bug eyes. With talent like that in the family I don’t doubt his son will excel although I’m kind of worried about the freshmans leaving Duke stuff. I guess it is what it is. If he’s ready to leave the nest, fly! FLY!

Rivers is the fourth player to leave Duke after their freshman year to go pro.
1. Corey Maggette (1999) Kind of sad what happened there.
2. Luol Deng (2004) Had a great year and would’ve been fun to see his full potential during the playoffs…or maybe we DID see his full potential… Hopefully he’ll just come back with full force next season.
3. Kyrie Irving (2011) Doing great on the Cavs and maybe he’ll have a chance at the playoffs sooner rather than later.

And since I have to go to work somewhat soon I will skip to the last most obvious bug eyed player in the draft today and that is Jeremy Lamb, without a doubt.

This UCONN Sophomore has a major case of the bug eyes. Like SERIOUSLY.

A key player for the Huskies win in 2011 it will be fun to see how Lamb fares in the NBA.

And we all know the okay but not great Houston Rockets need a little boost to help round out their team for the coming season. Some think he might go to the Suns or even to the Warriors but most believe that the Rockets will snatch this Sophomore up in hopes of a better offensive game.

It’s like they can see something with their eyes that the rest of us can’t see. Although I think Steve Nash’s injured ego and eye have prevented him from grasping the coveted Championship title but two MVPs aren’t bad…I guess. Haha. I’m just joking.

This will be a fun draft pick none the less. Too bad my team traded away all their draft picks. Maybe we can get some trades in the works after the draft…

DRAFT STARTS AT 7:30PM ET! Or 1:30pm HAWAIIAN TIME!

You know when you see those random news updates on Yahoo?

And you can’t help but click on them?

Well even before I clicked on it, when I read, “Phelps falls in first Olympic trials test”, all I could think of was…

He’s been eating WAY too many Subway sandwiches.

Original Link

Am I the only one who thought that? Someone else had to have too right?

And for those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about it’s this:

Man, Subway is gross. $5 Footlong? But what if my footlong never even cost $5? Lame.
