Plato’s Closet – Honolulu

2013-01-17_13-47-21_535

Here is what I wrote for the draft. They’ll edit it before it goes in the paper but I say what I wrote is good enough for my blog!

Being from Los Angeles I love thrift stores and consignment shops so I knew that I had to give this place a visit. Very much like Crossroads and Buffalo Exchange, Plato’s Closet offers a variety of name brand clothing at more than reasonable pricing. It was like every college girl’s dream! Tons of outfits to choose from, all in either new or slightly used condition, with more than affordable prices. I would say shopping at Plato’s Closet is a lot cheaper than shopping at Forever 21 with a better selection of styles for both men and women. Plato’s Closet has done very well in the states and it was about time that they opened one in Honolulu. All the employees were more than helpful and very friendly as well. And for those of you who are worried about parking they have a private lot right in front of the store and for those students without cars it’s only about a 1.7 mile walk from campus.

The store itself is packed wall to wall with clothing and accessories. And the atmosphere is very welcoming as every customer is greeted as they walk through the door. Whether you are looking for shoes for a friend’s wedding or a clubbing outfit for the weekends, this is definitely the place to go. I saw plenty of clothes with the tags still attached selling for a mere fraction of what the original retail price was. I saw Women’s Air Jordan’s from $12-$21, a new Bebe dress for $18 and even Betsey Johnson purses for half what they would charge at Ross. And of course I couldn’t leave the store without picking up a few things for myself.

The only downside to Plato’s Closet would be to potential sellers. I have read reviews as well as asked people what their experience has been with selling their items to Plato’s Closet and more people have been disappointed with the amount of product that the store chooses to buy and for how much. Because the store sells their merchandise for such a low price it is hard for sellers to get what they think is fair for their new or gently used items. If you just want to get rid of some clothes or need quick cash then it might not hurt giving Plato’s Closet a try but most people have just found it easier to donate their unwanted items to Goodwill. I am sure that as they get more business they will be open to buying more from customers as times go on but I’ve heard that they have been pretty picky about what they choose to purchase from customers.

But overall, I had a great experience at Plato’s Closet and I can’t wait to go back soon to see what new things have come in. It’s refreshing to see a store that is affordable to the general public and to college students like myself.

And here’s what I got this time around. I picked out two dresses that I KNOW that I did NOT need to try on because I just had to have them!

I didn’t look at all the clothes or go through each rack because I knew this trip was more for school work than for pleasure but I’m sure I’ll be back there soon enough. There were sneakers and bags that I wanted but I knew that I had to pace myself.

I just need to keep reminding myself…I NEED TO SAVE FOR LAW SCHOOL!

It hasn’t been working TOO well but I’m trying. Slowly but surely. (Don’t call me Shirley!)

But anyways…

The first dress I fell in love with at first glance! And it’s by one of my favorite designers in LA!

The store on Melrose is called Voom and this lady makes all her clothes by hand! And they’re usually WAY too expensive for me to even consider buying anything. Her store MIGHT have closed down because of it. But I’m psyched to get a hold on this dress because I didn’t even know she had designs LIKE this.

2013-01-18_23-07-38_220
Excuse all the wrinkles.

But isn’t it just adorable?! When I saw the old school hand stitched puppies on there I KNEW this was for me!

I used to LOVE embroidery and stitch work so whenever I see dish towels or clothing with it, I can’t help but love it even more!

Paid $14 for a $100-$200 dress!!!

The next dress fits amazingly on me and the back is to die for!

2013-01-18_23-09-06_489

And guess what ladies?

It’s a Wet Seal dress! …I know right?

2013-01-18_23-09-40_497

And it only cost me $8!

I’m so happy with both dresses that I got and hopefully they’ll like my review too!

Yay for thrift store finds! Woo hoo!

Nothing like some Mexican Corn and Peanut Butter Crunch cookies…

1358270376739

My mother sent me a picture of my baby Wolfgang yesterday.

Isn’t he so precious? I just LOVE my big baby.

So yesterday Olivo went to school with me to check out the campus while I had my one class for the day.

I actually enjoyed my Science Fiction class yesterday. We got to discuss King Solomon’s Mines by H. Rider Haggard and I totally got to rip this girl’s ideas TO SHREADS! So I was pretty happy.

What? She said something stupid without thinking. She gets what she deserves.

2013-01-15_12-14-48_276

After that Olivo and I went to The Tea Farm near campus. I really love the tea there so I had to take her since she’s a tea fanatic.

I had the Green Tea Lemonade, like I always do, and it was DELICIOUS!

If you have time you should check the place out. It has a simple yet pleasing interior design, a shelf full of books for customers to read from and exchange with if they like, food options and of course, delicious tea! If you’re in Honolulu, you MUST check it out!

I’m pretty sure I’ll write a complete Yelp review soon. I feel like I’m about to pass out right now so I’ll put it off till tomorrow.

And for those of you who are curious, here is my Yelp link:

serialprincess.yelp.com

I have reviews for places in Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco as well as some that are scattered here and there within the continental US!

After that we took a trip to the post office and I mailed a box of cookies to my friend Kana, a Christmas gift that I had to exchange for a nephew and some post cards for friends. I love the post office but I hate it. Sending mail just costs an arm and a leg. It always makes me cringe and die a little bit on the inside…

Decided to make Mexican food so I made Chicken Quesadillas and some Mexican corn on the cob! I forgot to buy the lime so it wasn’t as AMAZING as it could have been but I was pretty happy with how it turned out. First time trying to make it and I’m glad it worked out…for the most part. I’ll remember to buy limes next time though.

I had to use Parmesan instead of Cotija cheese because I doubt I could get any of that in Hawaii.

Here is the recipe I used if anyone is curious.

Ingredients:

3 tablespoons mayonnaise (fat free is fine)
2 teaspoons fresh lime juice (optional)
2 tablespoons finely grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 ears corn, shucked

Directions:

1. Prepare grill.

2. Combine mayo and juice (if using) in a small bowl.

3.Combine cheese and seasonings in another small bowl.

4. Place corn on grill rack that has been sprayed with cooking spray.

5. Grill corn 12 minutes or until tender, turning frequently.

6. Remove from grill and brush with mayo mixture, and sprinkle with cheese mixture.

7. Serve immediately.

2013-01-15_19-09-07_559

Also made some Peanut Butter Crunch Cookies for the first time using the recipe on the box.

2013-01-15_21-09-41_259

I’ll post a recipe up soon! I love you box recipes!!!

‘The Walking Dead’ Game Review

64634_10200337206609602_1177260791_n

I wrote a review for the ‘Walking Dead’ video game by Telltale games for my University paper and they published it today!

Hooray! Hoorah!

Here is a link to the online version of the article.

I’ll post the article on here as well!

Game review: ‘The Walking Dead’

Zombies and apocalyptic themes remain popular in the video game world today, but if you’re tired of the run-and-gun gameplay typical of the genre, Telltale Games has taken advantage of the popularity of “The Walking Dead” television series and created a video game that will satisfy any zombie fanatic – even those who aren’t fans of the show.

“The Walking Dead” is a decision-based game that is more focused on actions and emotions than the typical first-person shooter. It is available for platforms such as iOS, Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and has five episodes that were released between April and November 2012.

While most “Walking Dead” fans are familiar with the characters from the television hit, this particular game is based on the original comic series by Robert Kirkman. Like the show, it has the same basic concept of a zombie wasteland, but also adds new story elements that allow the player to decide the outcomes to each story.

Gamers play from the point of view of Lee, a “criminal” charged with murder – the specific details are kept secret. It is the gamer’s job to choose which path Lee takes – whether it be one of aggressive, brutish behavior or compassion ¬– and if he is to do the right thing in any situation.

Each new decision has lasting consequences and changes the outcome of the overall story. While other action-based games are only fun the first time through, the same cannot be said about “The Walking Dead.” I’ve gone back several times to see what other alternative endings I could encounter, and I’ve watched many “Let’s Play” videos of situations that I haven’t even come close to yet.

Telltale Games has made a thrilling action-based game; players are made to anticipate each cliffhanger and life-changing event. With the use of quick-time events and timed responses, you have no time to zone out or get bored.

The action and situations presented are intensely realistic – whether it be jumping onto rooftops or deciding whom to side with in arguments among the group. I’ve flinched more than a couple of times when exploring unknown territories, having the lives of others solely in my hands and when hit with sudden “walker” attacks. A sense of urgency lurks in the background with risky and uncertain decision-making. Mix this with fear and anticipation, and you’re never sure what could happen next.

At the end of each episode, the game will display statistics of your actions compared to the choices that other gamers have made during the same situations. Were most people good, or did most people choose to sacrifice the safety of others for their own benefit? The outcomes can be surprising.

“The Walking Dead” is definitely one of the best games of 2012 and well worth the investment. It is suspenseful but also has a gripping storyline with developed characters. Fans of the television show, try out the game to get your “Walking Dead” fix before the series returns in February. For those of you who have already enjoyed “The Walking Dead” game series, look out for the second season, set for release sometime in 2013.

Everyday life in Hawaii

2013-01-06_15-33-35_37

Thought I would just post some pictures of what I’ve been up to everyday while I’m here.

Nothing too crazy.

First picture is of some Taro Boba Milk Tea! Which was delicious! I ordered a small but it turned out to be pretty big.

FB_IMG_13575827051867066

This was the picture from the first day of school.

It was raining pretty hard in the morning but there’s always a rainbow during/after so I thought it’d be cool to show you guys.

It sucked for me though. Unprepared. No umbrella. Wearing a see through shirt.

NOT A GOOD IDEA.

2013-01-09_07-46-34_937

And this was the second day of school.

Still raining. Still unprepared. But at least this time I was NOT wearing a see through shirt. Phew~

2013-01-09_14-37-30_162

Took me about 2-3 days of working on it after school but I finished the 1000 piece underwater puzzle that I had bought over Thanksgiving vacation in LA.

It was actually a lot of fun. (No Mark did not help me put it together).

I think this is what happens when you are an only child. Board games don’t really do it for you but a PUZZLE! Now THAT’S a WHOLE DIFFERENT STORY! Oh man did I love putting together puzzles when I was a kid.

No I did not have a sad childhood, thank you very much. I just like what I like. That’s all.

And now it’s time to look for another one to complete!2013-01-09_17-25-53_185

Watched the Lakers vs Spurs game yesterday.

And I was like all other Lakers fans yesterday, greatly disappointed.

Man, being so many games under .500 SUCKS!

WE HAD IT TOO! I thought we were SO lucky when Parker through it out of bounds but NO. We have to F*** it up like we always do in the 4th quarter. Typical Lakers. *Sigh*

I like the Spurs though but this would have been a good win for the Lakers. A girl can dream.

And Dwight Howard, Jordan Hill and Pau Gasol are out for tomorrow’s game.

I thought the injuries would be not as frequent now that we’re back at a regular season but again I was mistaken.

UGH PLEASE SOMEONE JUST TAKE DH OFF OUR HANDS!

WE DON’T WANT HIM ANYMORE!

(And I NEVER wanted him in the first place!)

Gay.

2013-01-09_20-55-05_602

We went and had some yogurt yesterday so that made things a lot better.

Yogurt: Peppermint, Taro and Plain Tart with Rainbow Sprinkles and Mochi! YUM!

And I started writing and editing for the University paper! I am so excited!

I’ll post a link to the University blog to which I will probably be posting to.

Exciting!!!!!

Just a picture of my two favorite furry buddies

So school started yesterday and it’s okay so far. I have 6 classes this semester so I have to make sure I stay on top of my shit, if you know what I mean. I have 3 English classes, 1 Art History class, 1 Anthropology class and 1 Philosophy class which is more like a math class because we’re learning deductive logic. I was really worried about this class but I soon realized it was just like my LSAT prep courses so I’m not TOO worried anymore. Yay!

I’ve been trying to bake more to keep my mind off of stress and it’s been helping quite a bit. I’m sure writing more on my blog will relieve more of my stress so I have to make sure to keep on that as well.

And most of all, I need to make sure I stay motivated throughout the whole semester. If I have to come up with incentives and rewards to keep myself going then that is just what I am going to do!

OH! And I’m going to start crafting again too! Hoorah! I ordered some supplies in the mail so I should be started on some projects very shortly.

But anyways, pictures like the one above really help me get through the day. I’m really glad my mother has been sending them to me. I have the most awesome cat in the world and Lala is pretty cute as well. I’ll call my mother and she’ll put the phone down so I can talk to Lala for a bit too. (Not like she understands but she turns her neck every which way to look for me). I miss my babies! AH!

MIA

Hey you guys. Sorry I’ve been M.I.A. lately. A lot has been going on.

So here’s a list of things I missed blogging about:

-USA Men’s Basketball winning Gold at the Olympics

-What an awesome year this has been for Lebron James

Is that it? Maybe. I start school tomorrow which I’m not REALLY looking forward to. I have to park off-campus AND take a shuttle AND take all 6 of my classes in one day. But it could be worse.

But in other news, guess what I saw at Ben Franklin crafts the other day?

Just about made my day. I promise I will write more soon.

OMG AND DWIGHT HOWARD IS ON THE LAKERS. EPIC FAIL.

Structuralism and Deconstruction

Sorry, this post isn’t about cars or the NBA. What else could I possibly have to write about?

Structuralism and Deconstruction

It’s something that the second I try to understand the meaning, I am lost but because I am lost I am able to understand. For you can not deconstruct something without using it during deconstruction. To tear apart is to understand. And to understand is to admit to it’s existence. Is it? For freeplay can only exist within a structure, which in turn is in itself organized but because of such grounding and organization, freeplay is limited. Substitutions are limited. But in a finite field, the substitutions are limitless. The act of freeplay itself is deconstruction, but what more is deconstruction that the act of creative reading. But nothing is original. Everything is structured. The center is a center but also the non-center. It exists within the structure but it is not limited to the structure for there can be a center outside of the structure. Then what is the center? Where are the limits and bounds to the center? Are there any? What is the sign? What does it signify? But the signifier and the signified are not the same. There is a loss of meaning between the two. What is the true interpretation of interpretation if there is any?

Maybe I just don’t understand at all. Or maybe my deconstruction of it, means that I do understand it.

I never thought the day would come that I don’t have enough boxes…

I’m cleaning my room to get ready for my move in early April but…I haven’t moved anywhere since I was 4, so technically I’ve never moved anywhere! What do I take? What do I leave? What do I throw out? Do I box things up? Leave them be?
And for someone who LOVES boxes, I DON’T HAVE ENOUGH! I’m trying to fit my life into 3 suitcases and it’s hard.

Suitcase Layout
1. Ps3 & Computer
2. Clothes
3. Books, Knick Knacks, etc.

I HAVE SO MUCH STUFF THOUGH! I’m literally at a standstill because I’m not sure what to do next. I have to leave my tv and my printer which makes me sad. I love them both so much! I’ve given away a lot of clothes but I still have a lot more to give away. I know I can’t take all of my books with me… all my art pieces that I’ve collected… all the little knick knacks that I have.

What’s going to happen to my Camilla piece that I had framed? Sadness… or my HUGE Lisa Alisa piece. God only knows what my mother would do with it if I left it here…ugh I need to talk to her about that before I leave. What about my little shelf of toys and stuffed animals! I guess I can’t keep them with me forever…

I am however able to take the love of my life, yup you guess it, my car. I don’t know what I’d do without my baby!

I just need to learn to let go of things that I don’t need. My PS3 and my baby (car) will keep me company. (And of course Mark too).

After I’m done organizing and packing everything away my room will be clean for once in my life. What a scary thought. Maybe I’ll take up Call of Duty again sometime. I have a Call of Duty decal on my car (I know, so cool right?) and these guys biking by yesterday asked if I liked Call of Duty and I told them I’m better than they could ever be. WIN!

Oh and it’s no secret I’ve been known to make racist comments left and right but I think I was caught off guard today. I was talking about Steve Blake with a classmate when this guy asks, “So, what do you think of him?” And I’m like, “Who? Steve Blake?” And he goes, “No, the Asian, Jeremy Lin”.

What, am I supposed to like him because I’m Asian too and we share some sort of deep cultural connection because of our similar face structures and struggles with the European nation? Well, fuck you. I asked him if he asked because I was Asian and he said yes. Said he “really likes them”. Oh, now we’re a “them”? And that he grew up around them. And then he tries to justify it by saying he has a Japanese wife. What a weirdo. I don’t support every god damn Asian on this planet.

But speaking of Lin, the Knicks are really going to have to kick it into hyperdrive because they’re coming up short against the Nets. Just saying.

I swear I’m still alive!

I’m REALLY SORRY I’ve been MIA. I’ve been writing papers for school or reading or watching the Bachelor. SO BUSY! You know there have been a lot of people writing about Courtney Robertson and warning Ben Flajnik about her and I had an epiphany in class today while we were reading Antony and Cleopatra. Stay with me now…

Mark Antony = Ben Flajnik

Cleopatra = Courtney Robertson

Enobarbus = Chris Harrison
(I almost typed Chris Hanson, like we’re watching “To Catch A Predator”, although this show comes close enough sometimes…)

Antony has to keep questioning Cleopatra’s love for him when in reality she’s just an actress. Sure Enobarbus tells Antony that she has real feelings for him but she’s always putting on an act and no one is ever sure of what her TRUE motives are. Hmmm. I thought it was relevant anyways.

Some kid compared the description of Cleopatra to Cher, which I think is TOTALLY inaccurate. Cher is just scary as fuck. Gabriele described Cher as “preserved”. Hahaha. Everyone in the class had a good laugh. Well just in case anyone is wondering what the passage is here it is:

Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale
Her infinite variety: other women cloy
The appetites they feed, but she makes hungry
Where most she satisfies. For vilest things
Become themselves in her, that the holy priests
Bless her when she is riggish.

-Antony and Cleopatra by Shakespeare
Act 2.2 L236-241

I think that’s a more than accurate description of how Ben see’s Courtney. Don’t you think?

Anyways, NBA TIME!

Lakers won against the Hawks yesterday. Wish I could’ve gone but I guess my education is more important. Lin is still on a role. But it was a close call yesterday, even with Amare playing it could’ve been game over for the Knicks because of Calderon and DeRozan. The Raptors had it down until the 4th quarter hit. I seriously thought I made the wrong call dismissing the Raptors but Lin brought it with 27 points and Amare made 21 points. Lin also had 11 assists. Warrior fans must be kicking themselves. Ah~ SUCKS TO BE YOU! That’s what happens when you ignore Asian talent! Hahaha I’m just kidding.

So yeah, 13 games tonight. A lot of really close games, except for the Kings vs Knicks which is just pretty sad. And the Bobcats are doing better than the Twolves? What? I knew my blog entry would motivate you guys! Beat those midwest good for nothings! (*Just for you Mark*) Hahaha.

And a big question to those of you who read this (and follow the NBA):
What are your thoughts on J.R. Smith? Is he just teasin’ all the teams?
It seems like EVERYONE wants a piece of him. I’ve heard rumors that the Lakers, Magic, Clippers and even the Twolves want him. Mark told me the Twolves have the most money to offer him but does anyone REALLY want to play for the Timberwolves? *shrug* I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Maybe if Kobe doesn’t scare him away the Lakers could get JR Smith. Did you really have to be mean to Dwight Howard? Who calls DH the “Tyson Chandler” of the Lakers? That man is unbelievable sometimes…

And the Rockets are leading against the Thunder? The rain in California must be throwing everyone off their game. Hahaha. YOU NEVER KNOW!

I really do hate the rain though. It just makes me so depressed and all I want to do is sit in front of my heater and watch Law and Order: SVU. Hahaha. Or curl up with a good book. Either or.

I’ll write another entry on cars…OH BUT, what do I always say? Can’t have a blog entry where you don’t learn something new so here it goes.

So whenever we hear the word “Cleopatra” we always think of this:

OR

Someone who looks like Angelina Jolie.

BUT in reality she WAS NOT at all pretty or statuesque as everyone claims her to be. She also had several brothers and sisters and she was NOT the only daughter named “Cleopatra”. Back in the old days they didn’t wait generations to use the same name. So one of Cleopatra’s older sisters was Cleopatra the 5th and the one we all know and love today is the 6th. It gets even weirder. Her family, who were descendants of Alexander the Great, inbred to keep power in the family. Meaning, the brothers would marry the sisters and so on but researchers believed there HAD to have been extra marital affairs because otherwise the offspring of related siblings would have eventually become sterile. Most kids are also born with defects and deformities as well. Gross right? So before all of her great lovers she was married to her younger brother. Yuck. If you want to know the full story you can always look it up.

Even though her family had been rulers of Egypt for quite a while Cleopatra was the first in her family to actually LEARN Egyptian. (She also knew 9 other languages). Pretty smart eh?

Don’t want to bore anyone too much. Hope you learned something!

“You can’t just put HE MAN in TRANSFORMER’S world. All right?

He wouldn’t be able to get to Cybertron because he lives in Eternia and Eternia is in an entirely different dimension!” -Stewie from Family Guy

Anyways, I just thought I’d throw that in there because what better way to start any speech or essay than with a historic quote! Yeah…I thought it was pretty awesome too. It really speaks to me, you know? Stewie is stopping Brian’s second imagination from coming into play to achieve a whole new level of thought processes and ideas. Stewie is stuck in a paradox in which he envisions the creation of activities and events within the Transformer world but by being so focused on technicalities he is unable to expand beyond what SHOULD be into further exploring the possibilities of what COULD be. Who is Stewie to say that He Man could not learn how to fly or indeed, as Brian puts it, get on a rocket to visit his fellow crime fighting heroes in a new and unexplored part of the dimension? Maybe this new wave of thinking initiated by Brian’s want to be included can lead to the deconstruction of what makes up a super hero in order to rebuild an even greater protagonist that is able to span several aspects of both time and space in relation to their surroundings. By not involving Brian in this children’s activity meant to spurt creativity and mental awareness, Stewie has not only stunted his own potential growth but also the potential growth that could have developed through such interactions.

Am I being serious? Who knows…Maybe this should blog should be called the “Ramblings of an English Major” but then I don’t think anyone would read it. *shrug*

Anyways, my mother had her friends over last night and no it was not to watch the Super Bowl. Although that would have been really cool if they WERE here to watch it. But I don’t know if any of the TVs in the house work too well. I haven’t watched TV in forever! But, getting back to the point, one of her friends brought some cookies for me! They’re actually pretty good. And who couldn’t love cookies tied in Lakers colors. Ugh Lakers…I’ll talk about that later…

Actually, I’m going to talk about it now. I even wore my “Boston Sucks” shirt today…but I guess it wasn’t enough to help them…

Mike Brown got suspended for a game for his little fiasco during the Jazz game, maybe that will makes things better. We can only hope right? I knew it was going to be a good game when I saw they’d be playing the 76ers but I didn’t want them to lose… I had class when the game was on so I had to keep up with the play by plays that I could get on my phone. They were so close the entire game. The whole time I was on it they were only 1-3 points apart. The game stats aren’t even that impressive. This has to be one of Iguodala’s lower scoring games AND WE STILL LOST. But in all fairness it was a low scoring game in general for everyone. Ugh…There were some other good games tonight. Knicks beat the Jazz and the Clippers had a very close game with the Magic but ended up coming ahead by 5 points. The Thunder vs Trailblazers game has been pretty intense too. It’s still anyone’s game. But you have my support KD! You can do this! But KD come on…FGM-A 9-17 is not okay. We’ll see how it ends up panning out later on. And before I move on to another topic…what was with the Heat’s jersey last night?

Do we really need 5 colors on a jersey? Let alone an asymmetrical design? AND they’re selling them on NBA.com. Here’s what the stock photo looks like:

Can you say ‘EW’?

1. The number and writing on the front and back are off center.

2. The colors include: Red, Black, White, Pink and Orange. It’s like a defective unicorn threw up on a blank sports jersey. What do the last two colors have to do with the heat? Degrees of colors leading up to how hot a flame gets? Makes for a dramatic picture that’s for sure.

3. Pink really? Good luck trying to sell these to your target market.

4. What is with the font on the front? I know teams can pick or choose when they want to put the city name and the team’s name but this looks like something out of Ken’s Spring Catalogue while he shops for clothes while Barbie is out being an independent woman.

5. Is it just me or did Adidas purposely make it look sort of like a soccer jersey? Can someone say Product Placement?

6. What happened to simplicity? Whoever designed this jersey has either been transferred over from another sports department or the recession along with the lockout has really been hitting both Adidas and the NBA so hard that they’ve outsourced their work to interns who are forced to scribble jersey ideas in between coffee runs for the rest of the office. (*Intern idea thanks to Mark, credit where credit is due*)

Oh well. I can just buy an All Star Jersey (which also lacks any new creative ingenuity) but I guess some things really can’t be helped. I’ll complain about it another time I guess. OH BUT those new Black on Black jerseys that have been coming out are pretty sweet. I’ll write my review about them next time. Don’t want to overload anyone with too much new sensory information.

And before I forget, Amare’s brother was killed in a car accident this morning so keep him in your thoughts? I guess it’s good the Knicks won a game today then right?

Moving onto a new topic, I ordered all my transcripts so I can transfer school starting next fall. Everything seemed to work out smooth so hopefully it will just stay that way. Yay for being productive! We also did some explication work in class today. There were some pretty good lines from Richard III to be honest. The class helped a lot because I have an explication due tomorrow on Madame Bovary. It’ll be a piece of cake though. My other class went well too. I ended up getting an A on the paper I had written on Plato and Aristotle which I’m happy about and I managed to pay attention in class while checking NBA score updates on my phone. Yay for multitasking!

But enough about school…it’s car time! My bestest buddy Jack and I always swap pictures of cars that we see throughout the day and guess what he sent me today? It has to be only my 3rd favorite car at this point in time…that’s right! You guessed it! A Volvo 1800S! (Actually my favorite is a Volvo p1800 but it’s close enough). And it’s from 1967 too…*drool*

God look at it! It’s in PRISTINE condition too! This is BY FAR the only cool car Volvo has ever made or will ever make. The person who owns this car has obviously taken care of it like it’s their own kid. Makes me so happy to see vintage cars in top shape. It gives me hope! We’re not dying out…soon you can see me in one of these. True I’ll have to get used to the 4 cylinder engine and the manual transmission but it’s all worth it for a beauty like this one.

What did Roger Moore drive on “The Saint” before he ever became James Bond? One of these bad boys, that’s right. In the TV Series he was seen sporting this bad ass baby. Forget about the Aston Martin DB5, it’s all about the 1800S! (*And again photo credits to Jack, I’m going to miss you!!*)

And while I’m on the subject, Jack, I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip! If you see any strange and/or exotic cars you know that I expect pictures when you get back! Don’t die!! I won’t miss the Vegan food but I sure as hell will miss you! And our amazing conversations about the aesthetic values of cars. Have fun!!

Now that I have spent a substantial part of my night writing and completing this blog entry, I think it’s time for me to actually attend to things that desperately need my attention. Bye until next time!
