Law and Order: SVU x NBA

My two favorite things coming together! I thought I was dreaming when I saw Chris Bosh on this episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit… I looked it up and although it’s this season it aired late last year. Why was I the last to hear about this? Apparently it was during the lockout when these guys still needed work. I mean, they fit in with the episode but I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me.

Oh and Carmelo is in it too.

Season 13, Episode 2, “Personal Fouls”. Look it up.

Here’s a Behind the Scenes look:

and the Promo they used on TV:

Boy was it a weird lockout season. Some went to play basketball overseas, some got jobs at furniture stores while others decided to play basketball stars on Law and Order…hmmmmm…hahahaha.

Now it’s time for me to finish watching the episode! Yay!

He’s on Fire! Boom Shaka Laka!

What better way to start a blog entry than with clips of Marc Gasol pulverizing Slop City’s own Bitch Griffin.

Here’s one where Marc just crushes Griffin’s foot.

And then the one everyone saw last night of Marc falling on top of Prissy Pants Griffin.

OUCH!

And watch Wade just smack the ball right out of Carmelo’s hands.

You’re not scoring on my turf BITCH!

Let’s watch that again but with Lebron and Tyson Chandler. Love those clean blocks! The Knicks didn’t even stand a chance in Hell against the Heat. Well, at least they stopped their 20 game playoff losing streak. Yay? Hahaha.

God I love playoffs season.

Lebron is KILLING IT!

You know what time it is!

Fuckin Playoff Time!

And of course Lebron is just DOMINATING the competition!

The Knicks are getting pretty frustrated with how things are going…you can kind of tell with all the flagrant fouls and technicals that the Knicks are picking up today.

Lebron’s taken quite a beating today but NOTHING stops the King!

He’s taken a handful of charges like a champ! And he’s made some amazing shots a lot of them while being fouled.

Dwyane Wade has been sliding all over the floor too.

Lebron’s the leading scorer today with 27 points! Playin it like a BOSS!

And yes I am wearing my Lebron jersey today. Why wouldn’t I be? I’ll buy some more and mod them as the playoffs continue.

And the Bulls might just have to play without Rose for the rest of the playoffs.

We’re not sure how bad his injury is but he’s been out for a good portion of the regular season and it might just continue like that through the Playoffs. The Bulls will have no problem annihilating the Sixers but I don’t think they’ll be able to win the Championships without Rose.

Might be an ACL tear which is not good news for Rose or the Bulls.

On another note. Rose sold the most jerseys this year beating out some other superstars. It’s funny because I haven’t seen a Rose jersey on anyone this year.

Iman’s hurt. Ouch. Wade made an awesome shot though…well he’s made several awesome shots.

It’d be awesome if the Heat swept the Knicks but I give the Knicks 1 win in New York but no more than that.

You know we’re all just joshin you Lebron

Trust me, we know that your situation is not the same as Dwight Howard’s, Carmelo Antony’s, Chris Paul’s or Peyton Manning’s. You’ve just become a cultural icon and people link leaving a team to you although what these players are doing is not directly related or similar to what you had to do when you decided to leave Cleveland. It’s become the new cultural euphemism that people link with sports and the movement of players. For people who seriously think that all of these scenarios are EXACTLY the same, they are very misinformed and oblivious to what is ACTUALLY happening in the sports world.

We know that you neither forced a trade while you were under your contract like Antony or Paul and that you also did not threaten to leave your team during the active season like Howard has done.

People become blind to the true meanings behind actions and instead stereotype seemingly similar actions in order to have a chance at relating to other people and the ideas that they are discussing. It has nothing to do with you as a player or as an individual. Haters are always going to hate. And for those of you who read my blog know that I made that “To pull a Lebron” definition up just to have fun. I mean he’s my #1 favorite player in the NBA. Haha.

He gave Cleveland 7 years of his NBA life and career. It is not his fault that the team did not build a team around him for that long. He carried the whole team to the finals. When I talk to Lebron haters they say that he gave up during the finals but how could you say that about someone? Giving up AT the NBA FINALS? After they’ve worked years to get there? That’s a bunch of bullshit.

He was an unrestricted free agent. He had no obligation to fulfill to the Cavaliers. We can’t all be like Steve Nash and stay with the same team for life.

It’s just like what Dwyane Wade said, “Think what you want to think, Loyalty means damned if you do, damned if you don’t — new definition of loyalty in the world. There’s going to be good things said about you, there’s going to be bad things said about you, no matter what you do.”

Lebron commented on the situation by saying, “”I understand that every time someone has an opportunity to leave or go, my name will come up. It’s been guys that have stayed and guys that have left before me, and there will be guys that stay with their team and leave their team after me”.

And that’s so true. Aw. Everyone just secretly likes Lebron, that’s why we just have to keep talking about him. Who could hate this?

(Photo taken from another blog I was reading).

Lebron, Wade, Bosh. They all still look the same!

WE LOVE YOU LEBRON!

Zeus is rollin’ out the THUNDER!

Photo courtest of NBA.com
(They were playing the Nuggets yesterday, not the Warriots, btw).

What an INTENSE game yesterday between the Thunder and the Nuggets. The Nuggets were ahead by 5 until half time and by the end of the 3rd quarter the Thunder had caught up but who would’ve thought the scores would be so evenly matched throughout the whole game! Game went into overtime where the Thunder dominated the court by scoring 13 points compared to the Nuggets 7. But that’s not why I’m writing this blog entry.

Yeah, it’s true. I wrote a whole blog entry about how Carmelo needs to share if he wants “in” on the Linsanity but FUCK, Durant and Westbrook don’t EVER have to share and they’d STILL win!

Kevin Durant ended up scoring 51 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. 51 points!

Russel Westbrook had 40 points, 4 rebounds and 9 assists. 40 freakin points!

Serge Ibaka totally laid it on too! 14 points, 15 rebounds and 11 blocked shots!

The highest scorer on the Nuggets was Afflalo with 27 points.

The Nuggets were struggling with their FGM-A scores. Afflalo only made 10-21, Brewer was 5-14, Lawson did a bit better with 8-17.

The Nuggets need a new star! Maybe they can take Carmelo back. I don’t know if the Knicks need him anymore.

The BIG question everyone has in their head: Can Carmelo Change?

The Knicks are back after their loss against the Hornets. They stepped up and beat the Mavericks 104-97. Nowitzski’s 34 points weren’t enough to stop the Knicks. And they didn’t think JR Smith was going to be able to play today because he JUST got back yesterday but he’s doing just fine. What is the Knicks secret?

Teamwork

Something I’m not sure Carmelo could adapt to. It’s taking longer than expected for Carmelo to come back, but maybe it’s a good thing? Who knows if the Knicks would’ve had this many wins if he were still playing on the team. Would Lin ever have made it mainstream? Who knows?

Lin made an astounding 28 points, 4 rebounds, 14 assists. He is still on fire! But like I said it’s a team effort and everyone else chipped in. JR Smith scored 15 points, Chandler & Novak scored 14 points, Fields 13, Amare 11, Iman 5.

For the Mavs it was Dirk at 34 and the only other major shooters were Marion at 14 and Terry at 13.

Is Carmelo willing to share the spotlight? Carmelo’s Offensive Rebounds just suck this season and the Defensive Rebounds vary here and there. He just needs to be okay with assisting a little more than he’s used to. Passing the ball to someone who is open. I’m not saying he has to give up his high scoring days forever, he just has to learn how to play nice. This is a team sport you know? THERE IS NO I IN TEAM! Lolz.

Since Carmelo was the one who got JR Smith to sign with the Knicks, hopefully we can view it as a good sign. And not to mention because they have played together on a team before (Denver Nuggets) maybe they can use this to their advantage to really make the team strong and a force to be reckoned with.

But I’m not all too sure what’s going to happen. Even in an interview with Carmelo when asked how he feels about “Linsanity” he says he’s happy because he’s a part of it. A PART OF WHAT?

“OF COURSE I WANT TO TAKE THE LAST SHOT!”

We’ll see when it finally happens I guess.

Knicks – Carmelo – Amare + Lin = Recipe for Success?

That’s right…It’s that time again. Another game with just Lin. Well not literally but it might as well be. Tonight it’s the Knicks vs Timberwolves and it’s a pretty close game. I just need the Timberwolves to lose so I can have the upper hand this NBA season. The more games they lose the happier I will be. But like it or not Love and Pekovic are on their game tonight so Lin’s going to need a little help. No, not from you creepy stranger wearing a Lin Mask. Maybe we can count on Iman Shumpert to step up like he did last night. Maybe I can just send bad vibes to all white men with ridiculous beards playing on the NBA (minus Pau Gasol).

But I can’t keep talking about the Knicks now can I? I don’t know what’s going to happen to the Lakers. Apparently the bet between Mark and I is still on. If I win I get new REAL Mercedes Benz floormats since mine are getting pretty old and weathered and if I lose (which I won’t) then I owe him Christmas Timberwolves game tickets. Yay! My baby is going to have new floormats and everything is going to be okay.

What is it with playing against the Magic? Someone just always gets hurt. First Chauncey Billups (Clippers) tears his Achilles tendon and then Carmelo Anthony (Knicks) sprains his groin. Ouch. Brandon Jennings should watch out because he’s probably next! It’s like a curse. They’re just taking down all the good players one injury at a time.

*Update*

Carmelo will hopefully be back by Tuesday, not 100% certain but wishful thinking I guess and Amare will be back when he deals with all his family issues and is ready to play again.
