Slip City? Miami Heat at OKC Thunder

One of many falls today during the game…but this one WAS pretty scary…

But that’s not what I wanted to show you guys, it was this:

Lebron’s 3 was so DEEP! Look at that shit!

Boy was it a miraculous shot!

He wasn’t able to keep his 30+ points game with a 60% shooting streak going today.

He got all the way up to 6 games but today he made 39 points shooting 58%.

Either way, I’m still proud of Lebron!

And Michael Jordan is stupid to pick Kobe over Lebron. But I’m not going to get into that right now.

And the Lakers game was greatly disappointing…

The Clippers were banking 3’s like there’d be no tomorrow!

Thunder Buddies

thunderbuddies

So Mark was telling me about this dude who wore a Ted ‘Thunder Buddies’ shirt to an OKC Thunder game and I tried to find the picture but no luck as of right now.

When he first told me I was like, “Someone actually went through all that trouble to make a OKC & Ted shirt???” But it just turned out to be this shirt:

TED34-TZJS2022

Pretty cute huh? I could see myself wearing that to an OKC game. Don’t really want to go to OKC to watch a game but you know what I mean.

But the search for the actual picture resulted in some interesting pictures of other people’s shirts.

Found this ‘Thunder the F#@K up!’ shirt and then…

Lil Wayne’s shirt

(Not related but thought I would post it anyways).

And then I found this:

Which I thought was just adorable!

Thunder vs Mavericks

dal_u_collison43_cr_600

Boy has this been an intense game!

Darren Collison got off that 3 point shot, even after Russell Westbrook fouled him, at the buzzer.

And this is NOT his first buzzer beater.

After a so-so season, Collison is having a stellar game tonight against the Thunder!

This game is intense!

Collison had 32 points and Kevin Durant had 40 points tonight.

Pretty crazy game.

And now hopefully the Clippers will NOT win their 15th game in a row.

Although they are leading 21 to 6 right now…

I think it’s time I start going to church…or doing SOMETHING!

Lebron James Trick Shot

Mark told me about this so I knew I had to share this with you guys. Look at Lebron’s crazy trick shot that he’s been doing at the Olympic games practice sessions. It’s pretty gnarly. Watching Kevin Durant try and do it too is pretty funny.

Good Luck Team USA! I know you guys will continue to kick some SERIOUS ass!

And for those of you who have already seen this clip, watch this other one that Mark showed me. Dennis Rodman vs Karl Malone WRESTLING circa 1998. Yeah that’s right, I said Wrestling.

USA beats DOM & Blake Griffin out for good

Best news of the day if you ask me!

Our USA basketball team ended up blowing the Dominican Republic OUT OF THE WATER! With a 113-59 victory at the Thomas & Mack Center on the University of Nevada-Las Vegas campus our All Stars just gave it all they had to show that there isn’t any competitor who can stand against this awesome team!

And in case you missed the big show yesterday here’s a little highlight for you guys:

And with some good fortune, Blake Griffin is out as of yesterday due to a torn meniscus which is most definitely some good news for the USA team because we all know Blake Griffin can’t play basketball for shit. He will most likely be replaced by Anthony Davis as well as some other alternates to sit on the bench. We’ll find out for sure by next week when Blake Griffin officially withdraws himself from the competition.

This season has been nothing but injury after injury and just because it’s Olympics time doesn’t make it any different. Also out from participating in the Olympics is Dwight the big baby Howard, Chris Bosh and LaMarcus Aldridge.

But having Anthony Davis as a backup was a smart move and he will go to the next practice with the USA team so he can play the next four exhibition games before the first official Olympic game against France which is scheduled on July 29th.

Who delivered their A game last night? Kevin Durant. Made a game high 24 points in a record setting 22 minutes with 9 out of 11 shots made from the floor which includes making 5 out of 6 three pointers as well. No doubt that this young All Star will definitely be competition for the Heat once again come next NBA season.

Who else shocked and awed last night? None other than Philadelphia’s own Andre Iguodala! Made an impressive 18 points with 7 out of 9 field goals made with 4 of those being three pointers as well. To think he was almost left off the Olympics roster! But Iguodala will be key in the success of the USA Men’s basketball team, for sure. Why? Because Iguodala is great at contesting shots, stealing the ball as well as starting fast breaks. And we saw yesterday that he is also a great scorer which will be very helpful for the USA team. We need him to slow down defenses when USA players are being double teamed as well as to keep the ball from the other team. And for those of you who are still skeptical and would’ve rather had Eric Gordon or Rudy Gay be on the roster, we’ll just have to wait and see how Iguodala meshes in with the rest of the team but I have no doubt either way that America will show the world who’s boss when it comes to Men’s basketball!

Our USA Men’s Basketball team is on FIRE! BOOM SHAKA LAKA!

Let’s go USA!

Heat for the WIN! Boom Shaka Laka!

Today’s game was AMAZING!

I was only able to catch the 2nd half since HD ABC wouldn’t play at the TV at work which kinda majorly sucked. But it happens that way sometimes. These jerks who ordered food came to watch the game so I was kind of happy that it wasn’t playing on the TV. Karma’s a bitch.

But my biggest thought for today is WHAT IS GOING ON WITH WADE TONIGHT? 5 Turnovers is NOT OKAY. Stop being pressured into a turnover, why didn’t anyone have his back? So many needless bad passes and hesitations by Wade. We need to work on that yeah?

And for Chris Bosh, it’s just like Mark said, you’re a big man so finish the game! A foul doesn’t mean you can just throw up the ball all willy nilly! Take it to the hoop! But amazing job on those block shots! You’re a beast!

And Lebron needs to take those shots when he’s open. You don’t need to be constantly passing the ball to another player. YOU are the key player of this team. Yes team work is important but when you are wide open, take the shot. It wouldn’t hurt to take an open 3 or to go closer for an easy shot. I’m really proud you made all your free throws in Game 2 and missed only 2 today! Such a big improvement from previous games.

And you need to spread out from each other to break up the Thunder defense! When you guys are too close to each other it allows people like Westbrook and Fisher to guard more than one player at a time which is a big NO NO.

Who else was surprised by KD’s 5 personal fouls today? I sure was. For a second I thought he might actually foul out of a game. He should’ve or should I say, almost, fouled out Game 2. He’s been cutting it close. And for those of you who missed it, (like I did because I was at a farewell dinner), here it is:

Whether you think it was a blocking or a charging foul, it is what it is and it’s already over and done with.

What’s really surprising is how consistent the Heat have become with free throws while the Thunder, who are the #1 free throw scoring team during the regular season, is suffering so much from missed free throws which end up becoming missed opportunities.

And I’ll post some highlights from tonight’s game as well.

Udonis Haslem DENYING Derek Fisher’s attempt at the rim!

Dunk by Wade assist by Chalmers!

Heat up 2-1! BRING IT ON THUNDER! If the Heat could somehow magically win all 3 at home this series would be set!

Thunder vs Spurs – Game 5 (SOME BULLSHIT CALLS)

I don’t know if you guys were watching the game or not but there were a lot of horseshit calls today. Mostly taking place in the 2nd half. But it didn’t really matter because the Thunder have this under their control! They were dominating in the first half and they continued to bring their A game for the rest of the second half.

It’s moments like these:

and these:

that Thunder fans and all NBA fans live for.

If you missed it pay close attention right around the 6-7 second mark. Look at Westbrook ROAR as he makes that alley oop from KD!

Did you see that back court violation? Now THAT was a bullshit call. Westbrook never had control of the ball and they were starting so close to half court.  Those refs were just full of shit all throughout the game.

Not to mention that play with Leonard and Sefolosha. Leonard fouled him and everyone knows it! He fouled him and shoved him out of bounds, it doesn’t matter if Sefolosha’s back arm touched the ball last.

And Tony Parker needs to stop playing the victim. No one has fouled you so stop throwing yourself to the ground every time there is the least bit of contact from another player. At one point he was just on the ground grabbing his cheek. Grow up.

I am so disappointed in the Thunder…

and actually surprised that the Spurs have managed to keep their shit together throughout the playoffs this year.

I don’t really have anything against the Spurs, I actually like them a lot as a team but after losing a few bets on some bad playoff series that included the Spurs I’ve stopped putting too much faith in them. Guess I was wrong about that this year huh?

I just don’t know what is going on with the Thunder. They need to mix things up and step up their defensive game to match the level at which the Spurs are playing at this year.

The Spurs only had a better shooting percentage when it came to Field Goals but they were able to work together as a team to win Game 2 at home. 5 players scored in the double digits and Tony Parker had the most points today with 34.

Not really happy with that Ibaka/Jackson Technical shit that was going on.

I’m really happy that the Thunder were able to shorten the Spurs 22 point lead but it wasn’t enough. Maybe with Perkins on the floor things might have been different?

I really hope the Thunder bring their A game from here on out. I know they’ve been working hard but coach needs to change things up if he wants to see a change in his team.

I believe in you Thunder! Don’t let me down!

Pre All Star: East & West Matchups

Two big games to look forward to today!

Lakers vs Thunder

&

Knicks vs Heat

West vs West & East vs East. You’re not going to want to miss this!

Starting off with the Lakers vs Thunder, the clash of talent between old and new will be a great show. And since it’s right before the All Stars it’s a great chance to see how the teams play against each other. Tonight’s game will show if they are pumped up and ready to go at it with the East! 2 All Stars against 2 All Stars. They can also use today to size each other up, understand how each player moves and operates, how to best support each other. For those of you who didn’t know this is the first game of the season in which these two will be going head to head. Strange isn’t it? Since some teams have already gone up against each other anywhere from 3-4 times. This season’s a bit off but it makes it that much more intense and nerve wracking to watch and follow. Both the Lakers and the Thunder have won their last game up to this one so you know that they’re in it to win it! Being the #1 & #5 team on the Western Conference this also gives us an inside look as to what the Playoffs MIGHT look like. There’s still a lot of time for a shift in rank but when you think of the possibility of these two teams competing again when the time comes, it’s more likely than not so both teams could learn a lot from today.

So what needs to happen today for the Lakers to win? Kobe is going to need to put aside all of the trade drama bullshit and get back to playing a GOOD game. For the leading scorer in the NBA, Kobe tanked last night with 15 points. I was actually afraid that we might lose to Dallas. How unsettling is that? Me constantly checking the Ipad at work talking to myself about the game while I make drinks for customers. Most of them must have thought I was crazy. Gasol, on the other hand, is playing better than ever. Do you know why? Because he plays TO FUCKIN PLAY. I’ll forgive the 5 Turnovers he had last night because Kobe had 7. 7!?! Do you believe that? Thank God Bynum and Fisher stepped up yesterday.

The Lakers also need to be on top of Durant and Westbrook. Well, not literally but enough so they aren’t able to shoot. We can’t have them scoring like they have been if the Lakers want to win. Hayward and Collison may still be out from todays game so that’ll work to our advantage. And they need to watch out for Perkins when he’s on the floor. He’s been having a high number of rebounds every night and the one thing the Lakers do not need is Perkins being there to rebound every ball be it offensive or defensive. And we need to not play Ron Artest and just trade him somewhere. I’m sorry. And the only thing with playing Barnes or Morris is that they play well when it comes down to it but they get WAY too many Personal Fouls for comfort with the short amount of time they’re on the court. Just saying.

Maybe I’ll write about the Heats vs Knicks game later…I feel like that’s the one game everyone is already focusing on anyways. OMG A JEREMY LIN ROOKIE CARD THAT SOMEONE BOUGHT FOR $1000 SOLD FOR $21,800. FUCK people are crazy.
