Derek Fisher hitting those 3’s in OKC

I’m happy that Derek Fisher is not only getting playing time in Oklahoma but that he’s actually adjusting well.

Not only did he make a buzzer beater today right at the end of the first quarter,

he also made a sweet 3 pointer in the 4th quarter.

He’s made 5 out of 6 shots and 1 out of 2 3 pointers.

Another sweet win for the Thunder.

SUCK ON THAT DIRK NOWITZSKI!

Money Shot!

Hey you guys!

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY! But I’ll do a full update about my birthday later. I still have all day to enjoy it.

But…just in case you guys missed it here’s Manny Harris’ money shot last night against the Knicks!

I think the Bulls have the game today against the Mavs.

We’ll see if the Jazz can keep their spot in the Western conference or if the Suns can make a last push towards making the playoffs.

Their loss today against the Nuggets really didn’t help anything either.

Back to watching the game.

BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!

Gasols Double Triple!

Gasol’s made like five 3 pointers this season and 2 of them were JUST NOW, back to back during the Mavs vs Lakers Overtime!

Two 3 pointers within 40 seconds of each other!

FUCK YEAH!

Kobe out. Lakers bench in.

You want to know what sucks about living in Hawaii? All the games are on early in the AM. I woke up to the Heat already having beaten the Knicks. UGH.

You think a girl could catch a break and watch some basketball…

but I’m up for the Mavericks vs Lakers game and thank god!

I’m just SO happy the Lakers can keep up the points with Kobe having been out for 5 games because of his shin.

I mean the Lakers have won almost all the games they’ve played without Kobe. Hopefully this game against the Mavs will be straight win #4.

The Mavs swept the Lakers last year during the playoffs so this win would be just that much more sweet!

The worst NBA bench in the league but they’ve been giving it their all.

And some great fakes by Kidd.

And I’m glad the Heat finally broke through with a win against the Knicks.

Especially since Carmelo made 42 points today. He’s had a lot of high scoring games lately.

The Knicks would’ve had the game today since their shooting percentage was only slightly lower than the Heat AND they had a higher 3 point shooting percentage but again what kills it most times is the ability to keep up a decent free throw percentage.

Some highlights for you guys who were like me and missed the game.

And Gundy’s rant of Flopping. Shumpert just SHOVED Jones! And Carmelo did the same thing to Lebron.

Back to the Lakers, if the Mavericks lose today then it’ll be a 3 way tie for 6th, 7th and 8th place. They really need to make a last effort push in order to win these final games before the playoffs. They have a couple days before their last game so it’ll give them some time to practice before they have to start the playoffs.

I just don’t know how it’s a 1 point game at this point because the shooting percentages for the Lakers are horrible.

Mavericks Shooting Percentages

FGM-A = 47.9%
3PM-A = 60.0%
FTM-A = 90.9%

compared to the Lakers

Lakers Shooting Percentages

FGM-A = 42.3%
3PM-A = 30.8%
FTM-A =  78.3%

Dirk has been having a hard time today though, as it stands right now he’s shooting 7 for 22 and Bynum is 8 for 21. Sessions is killing it though!

But I can’t have a blog without it being somewhat informative so here it is!

We all know Kobe has been out because of his left shin injury from that game against the Hornets but here’s some more information about the injury.

It’s actually called TENOSYNOVITIS.

“Tenosynovitis is inflammation of the lining of the sheath that surrounds a tendon (the cord that joins muscle to bone). The synovium is a lining of the protective sheath that covers tendons. Tenosynovitis is inflammation of this sheath.”

It occurs most commonly in the hands, wrist and feet but can also occur wherever there is  a tendon sheath.

Why does this injury affect Kobe and why is he out?

Well, this not only causes difficulty in the movement of joints but it also causes redness, swelling and pain in the joint area. It’s better to rest Kobe for the playoffs rather than to risk injuring him any further. Any cuts in the area might also lead to infection which would require immediate surgery.

The only thing Kobe and the Lakers need to watch out for is that with treatment recovery should not be a problem but if the injury and swelling was due to an overuse of the joint and the product of a repeated activity there is a chance that Tenosynovitis will come back which is not good news.

Tied game with 1.5 seconds left.

OVERTIME!

THANK GOD DIRK IS GETTING OLD! FUCK YEAH! HE’S MISSED 17 SHOTS!

“The only people who are unhappy about this is the 40 people who have to come in in about 4 hours to change the floor for the Kings game today”.

Hahahahaha.

Selling furniture and homeless?

If you haven’t heard about it…for a good amount of the season Dallas Mav’s pointguard Delonte West was homeless.

That’s right…homeless.

He’s had a tough time on and off the court and it’s had a big effect on him. Going through the Lockout, divorce, other criminal charges and a bunch of lawyer fees, Delonte West had found himself homeless. Nobody knew his true situation. While at away games he would stay at hotel rooms but while at home he would be sleeping in the locker room or in his truck. With all these money draining expenditures it was hard for him to get approved for an apartment let alone have money to spend on himself. He had sold about everything and even worked at retail stores to make ends meet. Another reason for all of this unexpected drama is because West suffers from being bipolar. He feels it has affected his career as well as his life to a great extent. But thank God his boss found out because all it took was one phone call to set things straight.

Change? Spare some change? CHHHAAANNNNNGEEEE?

The BIG question everyone has in their head: Can Carmelo Change?

The Knicks are back after their loss against the Hornets. They stepped up and beat the Mavericks 104-97. Nowitzski’s 34 points weren’t enough to stop the Knicks. And they didn’t think JR Smith was going to be able to play today because he JUST got back yesterday but he’s doing just fine. What is the Knicks secret?

Teamwork

Something I’m not sure Carmelo could adapt to. It’s taking longer than expected for Carmelo to come back, but maybe it’s a good thing? Who knows if the Knicks would’ve had this many wins if he were still playing on the team. Would Lin ever have made it mainstream? Who knows?

Lin made an astounding 28 points, 4 rebounds, 14 assists. He is still on fire! But like I said it’s a team effort and everyone else chipped in. JR Smith scored 15 points, Chandler & Novak scored 14 points, Fields 13, Amare 11, Iman 5.

For the Mavs it was Dirk at 34 and the only other major shooters were Marion at 14 and Terry at 13.

Is Carmelo willing to share the spotlight? Carmelo’s Offensive Rebounds just suck this season and the Defensive Rebounds vary here and there. He just needs to be okay with assisting a little more than he’s used to. Passing the ball to someone who is open. I’m not saying he has to give up his high scoring days forever, he just has to learn how to play nice. This is a team sport you know? THERE IS NO I IN TEAM! Lolz.

Since Carmelo was the one who got JR Smith to sign with the Knicks, hopefully we can view it as a good sign. And not to mention because they have played together on a team before (Denver Nuggets) maybe they can use this to their advantage to really make the team strong and a force to be reckoned with.

But I’m not all too sure what’s going to happen. Even in an interview with Carmelo when asked how he feels about “Linsanity” he says he’s happy because he’s a part of it. A PART OF WHAT?

“OF COURSE I WANT TO TAKE THE LAST SHOT!”

We’ll see when it finally happens I guess.
