New Additions to the Heat

The first addition to the Miami Heat this off season is none other than Ray Allen which both me and Lebron are happy about. Sucks that the Celtics didn’t trade them during the regular season so they could get something in return but that’s how it happens sometimes, you know?

One thing I do know is that Miami made a great move acquiring Allen. Not only is he one of the best 3 point shooters of his time, if not THE best of ALL time, his overall 92% accuracy from the free throw line is nothing to laugh at. Sure he’s getting old and has some injuries slowing him down but who doesn’t nowadays? It’d be nice for both Ray Allen and the Heat to go at it for another Championship ring come next season. The Heat will REALLY be a team to be reckoned with.

And besides, Ray Allen shouldn’t want to stay on a team where he’s being replaced by the 21 year old Bradley who has been starting when Ray Allen has been unable to. Of course it is unlikely that the Heat will use Allen as a starter but by having a greater opportunity at actually playing and having the ball, which Rondo and Allen have gotten into tiffs about, it will give Allen more room to play out his days instead of just being on the sidelines.

People have different views on the positives and negatives of Ray Allen leaving the Heat but what is done is done and we’ll just have to wait till next season to see if it was the right move to make for both the Heat AND for Boston.

Which brings us to our next addition, veteran forward Rashard Lewis. Having been Ray Allen’s teammate for 5 years in Seattle, these two are JUST what the Heat needed to amp up their already All-Star team consisting of Lebron, Wade and Bosh. These two will not only add more shooting options for the Heat team but bring a new defensive aspect to their game as well.

Yes he’s played his second worst career year last year due to injuries but I have high hopes that he will bring his A game this coming season on the Heat.

Can’t wait to see these two in action!

Lottery Draft Pick

And even though the Charlotte Bobcats had a 25% chance of getting the #1 NBA Lottery Draft Pick, the rug was pulled from out under their feet and the #1 Pick this year will go to the New Orleans Hornets.

Who else is disappointed?

I mean the Bobcats will still get a good pick regardless because they’re #2 but it’s highly unlikely that they’ll get Anthony Davis who is probably going to be drafted first by the New Orleans Hornets.

But did any of you guys see the Draft on TV? The Cavaliers owner sent his son (who looks 12 but sounds 32) as the Cavs representative. I thought it was pretty funny. WHY DON’T I GET TO BE ON THE NBA DRAFT LOTTERY STAGE AS A REPRESENTATIVE?!?!

He was actually on last year too and he was 14 last year so I guess that means he’s 15 this year.

Here’s his clip from last year:

Here’s the full list if any of you missed it:

1. New Orleans Hornets
2. Charlotte Bobcats
3. Washington Wizards
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
5. Sacramento Kings
6. Portland Trail BlazersĀ (via New Jersey Nets)
7. Golden State Warriors
8. Toronto Raptors
9. Detroit Pistons
10. New Orleans Hornets (via Minnesota Timberwolves)
11. Portland Trail Blazers
12. Milwaukee Bucks
13. Phoenix Suns
14. Houston Rockets

And it’s just like everyone expected…it’s a lose lose scenario for the New Jersey Brooklyn Nets either way. No #1 draft pick and they can say goodbye to Deron Williams. Deron wasn’t going to wait for Anthony Davis to mesh into the Nets and I think he’s done waiting for DH to get to the Nets. Oh well, so much for that.

Let’s go Lebron & the Heat!
