Miami Heat vs Minnesota Timberwolves

Some highlights from the game.

I was surprised that the T-wolves were doing so well for quite a bit of the first half of the game. Especially without Ricky Rubio, who had an amazing first game back against the Mavs. They were apparently resting him so he would be back to normal sooner rather than later. According to Mark, they’ve been limiting his playing time to around 18 minutes per game in order to make sure that he gets the rest that he needs. So he played against Orlando but was inactive when the T-wolves were playing against the Heat. But Kevin Love is back. Although a few other members of the T-wolves are still out with injuries.

And what’s with that bandage on JJ Barea’s forehead? Reminded me of the old Steve Nash look.

Steve-Nash-One-Eye1Don’t you think?

And did you guys see that shot that Mario Chalmers made at the end of the first half during the Heat vs Timberwolves game? Beautiful!

I must say though, even if I am a Miami Heat fan, that they did make some BS calls against Minnesota during the game. Didn’t want to admit it to Mark or my father-in-law but there were a few times when fouls weren’t called or weren’t called correctly. It is what it is though. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Although, I don’t appreciate bad ref calls when it comes down to the playoffs, because then I get really pissed. We’ll see what happens with that though. For the most part refs have been getting better, or that’s what I think anyways.

Another funny thing was that the TV announcers started to talk about how basketball had become something resembling something like that of parents who want to take away jungle gyms after their kids get hurt. Uh…sure? I think he went a little off the mark with that comment and I’m not really sure where he was getting at but I still thought it was pretty funny.

And Battier was on top of his 3’s! It was so majestic when he would make each shot!

Although I must say, Ray Allen is getting old…he can’t hit those 3’s like he used to. Yeah he made one but it took him a couple tries. But, after all that I’m glad to see him play. I kind of wish they would give Mike Miller more minutes. I believe he still has potential.

And we’re going to a Timberwolves game next week so I’ll have updates on that as well!

And I can’t just leave you guys with nothing so here it is:

A commercial with Shaq and Nick Cannon…training. I thought it was entertaining. Lolz. Enjoy.

NBA season already?

Tony Parker was a BEAST! I knew the Spurs had this under their belt! OKC needs to figure out their team dynamics now that Harden is gone. Ibaka needs to step up but not like how he did the other day. Double Technical already man? It would suck to see the Thunder going downhill just because they don’t have Harden anymore. I’m sure they’ll figure everything out and be able to get things back on track for the rest of the season.

And what happened to Russell Westbrook? He was like Rondo from the other night. Just GONE! Making 6 out of 21 field goals? That’s worse than Kobe on a bad day!

But you have to give it to Leonard, dude got 5 steals that night! It was crazy! Haven’t seen a rookie improve that much in a LONG time.

And that full court pass by Duncan? Unbelievable! Man Duncan is the master of Full court passes!

And is it just me or is the new Spurs jersey just really ugly? What was wrong with the old jersey? The new jersey looks like something you would find at a flea market stall in the streets of Hong Kong. FAKE. It also makes them look like old men in pajamas. Please don’t tell me some art academy student designed this shit? You’d think with being such a well rounded and successful team that they would have top designers on jerseys. Maybe Peter Holt was just wasted when they pitched this idea to him. I rather have “Los Spurs” rather than just a big spur on the front. It kind of looks like a bad Forever 21 design. Whatever.

And in other NBA news I am so happy to have Ray Allen on the Heat. Man was he on fire the other night! Everyone on the Heat was making those 3 pointers like nobody’s business! And Ray Allen has still got it! I also won a steak dinner thanks to the Heat so I am one happy camper! Yummmmm…

And since the NBA season has started again I will write more!

And red does nothing for Harden. Just saying.

New Additions to the Heat

The first addition to the Miami Heat this off season is none other than Ray Allen which both me and Lebron are happy about. Sucks that the Celtics didn’t trade them during the regular season so they could get something in return but that’s how it happens sometimes, you know?

One thing I do know is that Miami made a great move acquiring Allen. Not only is he one of the best 3 point shooters of his time, if not THE best of ALL time, his overall 92% accuracy from the free throw line is nothing to laugh at. Sure he’s getting old and has some injuries slowing him down but who doesn’t nowadays? It’d be nice for both Ray Allen and the Heat to go at it for another Championship ring come next season. The Heat will REALLY be a team to be reckoned with.

And besides, Ray Allen shouldn’t want to stay on a team where he’s being replaced by the 21 year old Bradley who has been starting when Ray Allen has been unable to. Of course it is unlikely that the Heat will use Allen as a starter but by having a greater opportunity at actually playing and having the ball, which Rondo and Allen have gotten into tiffs about, it will give Allen more room to play out his days instead of just being on the sidelines.

People have different views on the positives and negatives of Ray Allen leaving the Heat but what is done is done and we’ll just have to wait till next season to see if it was the right move to make for both the Heat AND for Boston.

Which brings us to our next addition, veteran forward Rashard Lewis. Having been Ray Allen’s teammate for 5 years in Seattle, these two are JUST what the Heat needed to amp up their already All-Star team consisting of Lebron, Wade and Bosh. These two will not only add more shooting options for the Heat team but bring a new defensive aspect to their game as well.

Yes he’s played his second worst career year last year due to injuries but I have high hopes that he will bring his A game this coming season on the Heat.

Can’t wait to see these two in action!

TRADE DEADLINE Update

Dwight Howard is a big bitch and if I were the Magic I’d let him go where he wanted. How could you promise a player to pick the next manager and coach? Is he REALLY that important? Ugh Dwight, even my bro Lebron wasn’t that much of a big cry baby.

But want to know about BIG NAMES that actually DO matter and will probably get traded?

Michael Beasley

Well Michael Beasley is coming to the Lakers which I’m just PSYCHED about! I’ll trade Steve Blake for him ANY DAY! I can’t wait to get my hands on a Beasley Lakers jersey. Haha. I know the Lakers need a point guard more than anything but I’m sure having Skittles won’t HURT the team any more than Blake HELPED the team. Yay!

Deron Williams

So since the Nets aren’t getting Deron Williams he’s out of there but who knows where he will end up. Sorry Nets…after you guys were trying to make it too. Maybe during the drafts you could pick up someone new.

Gerald Wallace

I’m sorry Trailblazers but your team is going to be a mess after today. All your star players are leaving for a better team and especially after that 42 point upset against the Knicks yesterday it’s no surprise everyone wants out. I would want out too if I got beat by the Knicks who haven’t won a single game this month. I mean for god’s sake D’Antoni resigned yesterday AND THEN they won? It’s not like he was the main root of their problems. They’re still going to need to figure out what to do about the team. One win on a whim isn’t going to be good enough to make it back to playoff status.

Teams most likely to acquire Wallace are Larry Bird’s Pacers or the Orlando Magic. This could be taken as an attempt by the Magic to appease the god known as DH. UGH. I hope they DON’T get Wallace. Howard doesn’t deserve anything at this point. GO SUCK IT, REALLY THOUGH.

Jamal Crawford

Like I said, he’ll be in a 3 way trade with Beasley and Blake.

Pau Gasol

Being a life long Laker fan it’s going to be sad to have to say goodbye to Pau but this game IS a business and I understand that it has to be run like a business. LA’s going to miss you Pau! Stay strong!

Where is he headed? Either the Houston Rockets or the Chicago Bulls.

The Rockets have had their eye on Gasol ever since the beginning of the season and they have what the Lakers need, a point guard and maybe that’s just what we’ll get. Hopefully a half decent one at least! DEAR GOD NO MORE SHITTY TRADES!

OR

The Bulls have been showing interest in him as of late trying to build up their All Star team. Who would they give up for Pau though? Would be be on the bench a lot more than? Hmmm…

Paul Pierce

Paul Pierce has been a Celtic his whole NBA career, 12 straight and solid years of loyalty and what does Danny Ainge want to do? He wants to trade him. With who? The Trailblazers. Yeah, I know. UGH. It’s not really clear what he asked for in return but I wouldn’t give up Pierce for anything less than AWESOME. I don’t like Paul Pierce as a person but I can admit that he’s an amazing player and that he too shouldn’t be traded for peanuts. I thought he could be the Steve Nash of the Celtics and just live out his career there. UGH DANNY. Causing problems for everyone during the trade talk season. Although after everything the Trailblazers will be giving up it would be a godsend if Pierce were to magically show up but I doubt that it’s going to happen and I rather it not.

Ray Allen

A lot of teams have been scoping out Ray Allen as well. Top contenders? The Indiana Pacers and the Clippers who have been struggling since Billups went down. DON’T DO IT RAY ALLEN! DON’T PLAY FOR THE CLIPPERS!!!!!!!

SO CLOSE YOU GUYS!
