Roller Derby + Musical + KBBQ = BEST WEEKEND EVER!

2013-03-01_10-27-54_827

This is my all the stuff I did this weekend!

The picture above is from my lunch that I got at one of the food trucks at school. I got Red Thai Curry with Saffron Rice and it was DELICIOUS!!! I need to eat at this place more often! Hot damn! They always have amazing smoothies and the cutest girls but I didn’t know that they had good food too.

Later on Friday night we went to Korean Barbecue with Eman and Bri!

Boy was it delicious! Bri had never been to KBBQ but she liked it quite a bit!

Just looking at this picture makes me want to go back for more. YUM!

The fun doesn’t stop there! After dinner we went to a Roller Derby bout at the Palama Settlement!

Contrary to the first banner we saw the South Shore Sirens vs the Topic Thunder and it was amazing!

The Sirens were down the whole first half but after the intermission they came back with full force!

Bri and Eman hadn’t been to a roller derby bout either so it was something new for them but I think they enjoyed themselves!

The Thunder ended up winning by 3 points but boy was it amazing!

I think I fell in love with one of the female refs AND Misfit Mayhem from the Tropic Thunder.

Some of these girls were AMAZING! UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!

Props to them for being able to do something so hardcore!

My Saturday was just as exciting too!

We had to buy some new sheets for our bed so it was an excuse to go to Ala Moana.

I mailed off a package for a friend and I picked up some neat stamps too!

Muscle Cars! I LOVE THEM!

And guess what else they were selling outside the post office?

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES!

I had to limit myself. I only picked up a box of Samoas and Dulce de Leche cookies!

I’ve waited so long to taste the sweet that is so rare.

And then we went to see a high school performance of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.

I thought they were good for high schoolers. Some parts were miscast and the dancing was off at times. But what can you expect?

I still enjoyed it none the less!

And look forward to my Walking Dead Review that I will post in a few!

Valentine’s Day Dinner + Movie

2013-02-15_19-07-35_59

Mark asked what I wanted to do for Valentine’s Day and I said Korean Barbecue & Die Hard!

I asked to do V-day on Friday because I had tests and such to study for on Thursday night and I think it worked out pretty well.

We had KBBQ at my favorite place in Honolulu, Sikdorak, and I loved every bite of it! We got there a little early which was good because everyone started to pile in as we started eating.

But by the time I was done eating I was WAY too stuffed to go to a movie so I said we would go on Sunday.

But before we go, we decided to look up what the ratings were of Die Hard on Rotten Tomatoes and it was NOT GOOD…

I mean the audience gave it a good review but I think the critics gave the movie something like a 17% which is HORRIBLE! I love Bruce Willis and Die Hard but I didn’t really want to pay to see a bad action film either. I think I might wait till it’s released on DVD.

So instead I looked for the next movie with a decent rating and we ended up settling for Side Effects.

Mark liked it better than I did. I think I would have rather watched Die Hard, to be honest.

The beginning of the movie was pretty interesting and it set up the plot and its twist pretty well, but I personally think the movie dragged the plot on for too long. I was expecting more of a cliffhanger ending like Inception or Shutter Island but no such luck for me.

This movie takes more of a political stance on police corruption, the malpractice of doctors and the world of money embezzlement. Not really my type of movie.

For those of you who like psychological thrillers and plot twists and such, I think you will like this movie.

4th of July

Happy Belated 4th of July everyone!

Mark and I had an amazing day filled with lazing around the house during the afternoon and going out at night to eat and get our fireworks fix for the year.  We played some video games, watched Bridezillas and then made our way down to Ala Moana to see if we could find a new King size mattress so we could put the current bed we have into the guestroom for when our friends and family come to visit. Sears WAS having a 60% off sale on all the mattresses but Mark wanted to think about it more before purchase so we made it down to the food court to get a little treat before we headed back home.

I got some Japanese rice balls (which I get every time I’m at Ala Moana because I just can’t resist) and Mark got a chocolate dipped soft serve at DQ. I hate ordering at the DQ at Ala Moana. These stupid Ch**** won’t sell me just the cone. JUST CHARGE ME WHATEVER YOU WANT! I DON’T WANT THE GOD DAMN ICE CREAM. Angry…

Then we drove back home because parking at Ala Moana was just a disaster because everyone was going to the beach yesterday so around dinner time we walked and had some DELICIOUS Korean BBQ for our 4th of July dinner. I LOVE this place! I’m so glad they have All-You-Can-Eat KBBQ in Hawaii…I don’t know if I would be able to survive without it!

When else do I get to eat meat practically raw? (Except at like the SUPER expensive steak houses).

And then it was time for fireworks on the beach/park! It kind of sucked because I think we both got a lot of bug bites from being there but it was a pretty awesome fireworks show so I’m happy.

I had an awesome Fourth of July and I hope everyone else did too!

It’s HAMMER TIME!

Do you know what time it is?

That’s right!

It’s HAMMER TIME!

After work Eddie and I went to Korean BBQ and ate our full of delicious meat. Mmmmm….I forgot to take a picture because I was too busy eating. Sorry guys, maybe next time. But I decided I wanted to go hunt for jerseys today so we went off shopping and guess what I found? THIS AWESOME SHIRT! I was like why is this shirt in the NBA section? And that’s when I turned it around and BAM!

BAD BOYS

U CAN’T TOUCH THIS

How awesome is this shirt? It’s from the year the Pistons beat the Lakers in ’89. I guess MC Hammer’s song was really in that time? The song came out in 1990. Yay for cultural references people can still understand! I am going to be KILLING IT in this shirt! Oh~ yeah!

You tube doesn’t have the Family Guy Can’t Touch Me video up anymore so I found one on Spike

http://www.spike.com/video-clips/jnqdhn/family-guy-cant-touch-me

For those of you guys who want to go watch it. Hahaha. Awesome episode.

And guess what else I found?

An old Allen Iverson jersey that fits me perfectly! Score! AND It was cheap. Yay!I’ve been wanting one for some time now! I really wish he would consider coming out of retirement.

COME PLAY FOR THE LAKERS! Please…

And here’s a picture of my Cavaliers Playoff shirt from 08? turned into a dress. Sewn by yours truly. Oddly enough it has Mike Brown on there as coach. Ugh, how the tides have turned…

Please ignore the mess in my bathroom.

Yay Call of Duty! I really should start playing again…
